Why I'm running for a third term
Additional Information
I am seeking a third term, as a candidate for Hudson School Board, to continue advocating for our most important asset, our kids. I have a history of supporting teachers, staff and past school boards during times of extraordinary community growth.
I support:
- Improving educational outcomes for our students
- Preparing students for a changing world
- Maintaining a safe learning environment for all
- Accountability to a community that includes students, staff, parents and taxpayers
- Continuing transparency efforts with increased communication through community surveys and community driven committees
I have strived to be a valuable contributor, understanding that I am one of a team of seven. This position is, and should be nonpartisan. There is a difference between activism and planned advocacy. A school district is a system with many layers requiring balancing multiple interests.
I have not missed a board meeting/work session in my six years serving the community. I have attended many regional training sessions and state conventions allowing me to learn from educators around the state. I make this effort because education is always changing and we do not live in a vacuum.
I am so very proud of Hudson schools. Teachers and staff that have been able to safely provide face to face as well as virtual learning during this difficult time.
